Teeth brushing and cleaning

Here are some simple and healthy alternatives to commercial toothpaste and mouthwashes. 
Suitable for everyday use 
Green clay toothpaste: mix some green clay powder with water into a paste 
Sea salt: wet your toothbrush and lithely dip into salt; brush teeth or 
dilute a teaspoonful in a glass of warm water and use it to cleanse your teeth and mouth (also great as gargling water for sour throat) 
Ground coffee: wet your toothbrush and lithely dip into coffee; brush teeth 
Althea mouthwash: (Althaea officinalis - marsh-mallow, hollyhock) this one is used to disinfect mouth and throat and especially against toothache; pour one cup of boiling water over 20 g of althea root and leave it to stand for 2 hours, than it's ready to use. 

Stronger cleaners: (not for everyday use) 
Dentie: use the part of an aubergine closest to the stalk ("cap"); bake it the oven until it's carbonated. Than, ground it into powder mixing with 20-50% of sea salt. Use it diluted in water or directly on your toothbrush. 
A first aid for toothache: massage the gum around the the aching tooth with dentie powder. 
Sage powder: mix equal parts of grounded (birch-tree) charcoal and powdered dried sage and use the mixture to brush teeth 3-4 times a week 
 

Lip Balm

To prevent lips from chipping in the wind or to protect them from the sun, use one of the following preparations:
Lip balm #1: In a double boiler, melt 40 g of bee wax. Add 30 g of honey and 60 ml of sesame oil, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth. Pour into a jar. 
Lip balm #2: In a double boiler, melt 10 g of bee wax, 5 g of cocoa butter and add 50 ml of almond oil. Pour into a jar. When it cools to body temperature, mix in the essential oils: 7 drops of vanilla oil and 3 drops of honey oil. 
Instant lip balm: Mix 2 tablespoons of honey and 1/2 tablespoon of rose-water.
